album1(invisible light)

Invisible light are the the type of light that we can don't see, touch or hear.

  • Radio waves:are the longest wave electromagnetic spectrum.Have 2 stations use them to carry signals in code that are AM and FM.They also carry signals for your television and cellular phones.

  • Microwaves:are shortwave radiowaves.Microwaves are good for transmitting information from one place to another because microwave energy can penetrate haze, light rain and snow, clouds, and smoke.

  • infared light:Infared waves are next to visible red waves in the spectrum. Is part of the electromagnetic wave spectrum that borders the lowest frequency longest wavelength among those that make up visible light.

  • ultraviolet light:Ultraviolet  light has shorter wavelengths than visible light. Though these waves are invisible to the human eye, some insects, like bumblebees, can see them.

  • x rays:X-rays have smaller wavelengths and therefore higher energy than ultraviolet waves.x rays can pass right throught most objects.

  • gamma rays:Gamma-rays have the smallest wavelengths and the most energy of any other wave in the electromagnetic spectrum. These waves are generated by radioactive atoms and in nuclear explosions. Gamma-rays can kill living cells, a fact which medicine uses to its advantage, using gamma-rays to kill cancerous cells.

vocabulary 4

electromagnetism:the productio of magnetism by electricity and the production of electricity by magnets.

electromagnetic spectrum:all the wavelengths of visible and invisible light in order from short(gamma rays)to longs(radios).

laser:a device that produce a thin stream of light of just a few close wavelengths.

vacabulary 3

prism:a cut piece of clear glass(or plastic)with two opposite side in the shape of a tringle or other geometric shape.

spectrum:a band of colors of produce when light goes through a prism.

primary colors: red, gren,or blue;mixing these colors can produce all the colors of spectrum.

pimary pigment:magenta, cyan, yellow;material with any of these colors absorbs one primary color of  light and reflects the other two.

vocabulary 2

Opaque:completely blocking light from passing through.

Transparent:letting all light through,so that objects on the other side can be clearly.

Translucent:letting only some light through,so that objects on the other side appear blurry.

polarization: allowing light vibrations to pass through in only one direction.

refraction:the bending oh light rays as they pass from one subtance  into another.

convex lens:a lens that curves outward (is thicker at the middle than at the edges) and brings light rays together.

concave lens:a lens that curves inward ( is thicker at the edges than the middle) and spreads light rays apart.

voacabulary 1

Bioluminescence:light  produce by living organisms.

Light Rays:a stright-line beam of light as it travels outward from its source.

Law of Reflection:the angle of an incoming light ray equals the angle of the reflected rays.

Concave Mirror:a mirror that curves out on the shiny side.

Convex Mirror:a mirror that curves out on the shiny side.

Light

LIGHT

Light is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength that is visible to the human eye. In physics, the term light sometimes refers to electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength, whether visible or not.
Five primary properties of light are intensityfrequency or wavelengthpolarizationphase and orbital angular momentum.
Light, which exists in tiny packets called photons, exhibits properties of both waves and particles. This property is referred to as the wave particle duality. The study of light, known as optics, is an important research area in modern physics.
